Employees whose injuries are determined to "arise out of and in the course of their employment" will be entitled to Workers' Compensation (WC) benefits. Every injury, regardless of severity, must be reported to the employee's supervisor immediately to ensure appropriate medical attention and to remedy the condition or circumstances that caused the incident. Delays in reporting may jeopardize eligibility for WC benefits.
The Insurance Office must receive proper medical documentation from the employee's attending physician substantiating any disability to work and/or restrictions to work, as soon as possible, to process a WC claim within 72 hours of the incident. If physical therapy is necessary, please see Brown's Physical Therapy Program.
Brown has a Preferred Provider Network (PPN) in place, which was approved by the Workers' Compensation Medical Advisory Board, for use by employees with WC Claims.
Workers' Compensation leaves of absence will run concurrently with the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA).
